Who we are
Written at the table, tested in the engine
Bomb Pot Coach comes out of a live home game that moved from Hold'em to four-card double board, then to five-card, and got expensive on the way. The people who write here are the players who stayed, kept the books, and decided to stop guessing.
How the advice is made
- Played first. Every rule on this site was played for real money before it was written down. The result of every night is recorded; the game has more than two hundred nights on the books.
- Then measured. We built an engine that deals the game, evaluates Omaha hands exactly, and plays opponents with the habits of real players: the one who bets every flop, the one who only raises with it, the one who calls everything. Every rule runs for thousands of hands against tight, loose and aggressive tables, with four cards and with five. Rules that lost money were cut.
- Then checked against the book. The one serious book on this game is Georg Funke's "Mastering Double Board Bomb Pots" (PLO Mastermind). We rebuilt its sample hands in our engine and compared our method's decisions with his, point by point. Where the two disagree we say so on the page.
- Then written plainly. No solver vocabulary, no ranges, no equity realisation. Words you can use at a table with a drink in your hand.
What we will not do
- Publish a number we cannot reproduce. Every table on the site names the script that made it.
- Republish someone else's work. The book is quoted in a sentence or two with credit. Its hands, tables and rules stay his.
- Promise a win rate. A good method and a bad month can share a table.
- Post as strangers. When we answer a question on a forum we say who we are.
