The turn after your bet
You bet the flop and got called. The turn is where the money is made or saved.
You made the first bet, one or two players called, and the turn came. Now there is a real pot and a real decision. If you hold one of these, bet the pot: the nuts on a board; a draw to the nuts with eight or more outs; top set or top two pair on a board that only a few hands beat; or a number of thirty or more by the table. Whoever called the flop with nothing folds now, and whoever calls is paying a full price for a draw against a made hand.
If you hold none of them, check. The second bullet fired out of habit is where the flop bet's profit goes to die. A check is not weakness; it is the method telling you the flop bet already did its job.
From today the drill moves to the turn. The engine plays the flop for you with the method, so you arrive at a turn where you were the bettor, and you decide.
First or second to act on the flop: always check.
Today's hand on the table
A deal that shows what today is about, with the method at your seat. Step through it, or let it run. Deal again for another.
